Welch Speaks at Third Annual Recovery Partners of Vermont Conference

Oct 24, 2024

KILLINGTON, VT– Yesterday, Senator Peter Welch (D-Vt.) traveled to Killington to deliver remarks at the third annual Recovery Partners of Vermont Conference. Senator Welch discussed his ongoing work to support Vermonters in, and working toward, recovery, and emphasized the importance of community partnerships in reducing overdose deaths.

“We are in the midst of a brutal crisis, and the folks working with our recovery organizations are doing critically important work. In recent years it’s been made clear that this crisis has shifted — which means our strategies to address this must also shift with it,” said Senator Welch. “It was insightful to hear from members of Vermont’s recovery community and learn more about how Washington can better support their work. I thank Recovery Partners of Vermont and the recovery advocates working in Vermont for providing people recovering from substance use disorders the long-term support needed.”
