“I voted NO tonight to striking down the newly revised D.C. criminal code because D.C. residents, through their elected representatives on the D.C. Council, deserve the right to determine their laws—without interference from Congress.
I have serious concerns about rising crime in Washington and in Vermont, and I’m heartened by the Council’s decision to go back to the drawing board and make additional revisions to modernize the code, while continuing to protect Washingtonians and reduce crime.”
