Welch Shares Passport Resources and Services During Passport Month

Sep 4, 2024

ST. ALBANS, VT — During National Passport Month, U.S. Senator Peter Welch (D-Vt.) joins the Department of State to share resources and important reminders with Vermonters about passport eligibility, validity requirements, and application and renewal processes.

“Traveling with a passport opens so many doors—to new countries, experiences, and cultures. As summer travel winds down, now is the perfect time to ensure you’re ready to travel ,” said Senator Welch. “With the new year right around the corner, I encourage all Vermonters to take advantage of special passport events to apply or renew their travel documents and check their passport expiration dates before making travel plans.”

During Passport Month, dozens of passport facilities across the country will host special after-hours acceptance events to give the public even more opportunities to get a passport. The Vermont Passport Agency in St. Albans, Vermont, is hosting a special passport acceptance event on Saturday, September 28th, from 9 AM – 12 PM to help Vermonters apply for passports. You can request a Passport Month Saturday Event appointment by name at 1-877-487-2778 any day after September 15, 2024. Learn more here

Passport Month events are for first-time customers and children using Form DS-11 to apply. Please note that adults who are eligible to renew a passport don’t need to apply in person. For more information about the passport application process, click here
